Mortimer Bartlett Prunty went home to the Lord on January 9, 2012 at 8:50 p.m. He was born in Pruntytown, WV, on May 27th, 1935 to Mortimer and Dessie (Jones) Prunty. He served in the US Army as a Cryptographer from 1954 to 1962 and retired from Navistar/International Harvester in 1996 after 30 years. He was a member of Heather Hills Baptist Church since 1965. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Robert Prunty and granddaughter Carly Olivia Prunty.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beulah Lovellia (Whitescarver) Prunty, 4 children, Tamera (Kenneth) Williams, Jeffery Prunty, Laura Prunty and Paul (Sally) Prunty; 9 grandchildren, Dominic, Justin, Danielle (Chris), Chelsey, Donovan, Zachary, Desiree, Tyler and Christian; and brother, George Prunty. Calling will be Friday, January 13, 2012 from 5-8 pm and Saturday from noon until service time at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery with military rites.
