Morris D. Pollard 88, Speedway, IN, passed away on April 17, 2011. Mr. Pollard was a retired teacher and coach for Speedway High School. He was a member of the National Basketball Coaches Association, Indiana State Basketball Coaches Association, Danville Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 500, Speedway Christian Church, and Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Morris Pollard Gymnasium at Speedway High School is named after him. He was the widower of Bonnie Pollard. He is survived by son Michael (Jean) Pollard, daughter Marcia Pollard, sisters Maxine Ramsey and Mary Guffy Irby. Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm in the gymnasium of Speedway High School. Services will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at Speedway Christian Church. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Dollars for Scholars at Speedway High School, 5357 W. 25th Street, Speedway, IN 46224.
