Mollie Linda Stanton

Mollie Linda Stanton, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 3, 2011. She was born in London, England on April 26, 1917. During War World II, she served with the St. John’s Ambulance Service and spent many nights in the London Underground as Nazi planes bombed the city. She met and married Austin Stanley Parker, who was an American soldier, during the war. Mollie worked as an underwriter at American States Insurance for 20 years. Mollie was also married to Verlin “Jack” Gentry, and Lloyd Clark; each leaving her a widow. Mollie leaves behind a husband, Howard Stanton; a son, James R. Parker; a stepdaughter, Deloris McDermott; 2 grand-daughters, 4 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grand, step-children. Besides her previous husbands, also preceding her in death are her parents, Richard and Fanny Wells, as well as her brother, Stanley Wells. Mollie was very active in community affairs especially through the efforts of Westview Christian Church. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 8 at 2:00 in the Chapel at Robin Run Village where Mollie was a resident for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westview Christian Church, 5925 W 34th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46224.
