Millard Ray Norris

Millard (Mel) R. Norris, 74, passed away at his home on Tuesday June 17, 2025. He was surrounded by his wife of 50 years, Carol, daughter Melissa, and 3 grandkids.

Mel was born on March 25, 1951, to Roselee (Davis) Norris, and was later welcomed into the family of Richard Norris through adoption. He attended Whitehaven High School and upon graduation he worked several years in sales as a district manager. He opened and ran his own business, Corvette Accessories & Service for 15 years. He was a man of many talents and could do and fix about anything.

Mel was a devoted husband and father whose love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He had a lifelong passion for working on cars, especially Corvettes, which he admired for their power and style. In his downtime, Mel enjoyed gaming, often immersing himself in Diablo and Call of Duty, where his competitive spirit shone through. He was known for his determination and outspoken nature – never afraid to speak his mind – but those who knew him best also knew the depth of his love and loyalty. Mel was a man who loved fiercely, lived fully, and left a lasting impressing on everyone he met.

Mel is preceded in death by his brother Curtis Norris; stepfather Richard Norris; and grandparents Ethel and Frank Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; daughter Melissa; grandchildren Lauren Warman, Franklin Warmen III, and Shelby Warman; great-grandchildren Liam Warman, Ian Warman, Haiden Warman, and Marlowe Warman; mother, Rosalie Norris; sisters Rhonda Moulden, Riese John Bowers; and nephews Kyle Moulden and Glen Bowers.

Mel fought a long hard battle against cancer as long as he could, and he will be sorely missed by those who love him.

Visitation will take place Monday June 23, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm.
