Mildred Lucille Weiper

August 21, 1919 — August 8, 2014

Mildred (Milly) Lucille Haws Weiper, 8-21-1919 – 8-8-2014. In words only Mom could say, "My parts have exceeded their warranty". After over 30 years of keeping a daily diary, she has "written" the final chapter, at least in this world. . There are so many Milly-isms that show her great humor, compassion, and love of life. "I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I am in", "oh well, could be worse", and one she always said in the mornings as she looked into the mirror "you old goat" (which wasn't true!) Her wit, humor and loving ways have bonded our large family in ways that seem truly normal to all of us, but admired by so many. With mom it wasn't about "what" she had to give, but how she gave what she had. Milly was raised in Bedford IN by parents, Viola & Lawrence, along with her sister Margaret and brother Vernon, and graduated from Tunnelton High School. Married to Roy E. Weiper (deceased) for 53 years after he spotted her sexy long legs on a city bus, they raised their children, Rex A. (Lisa) Carmel IN, Lynn Hericks of Cleves OH, Chris Harrington (Larry) of Madison IN, Kurt (deceased), Gail Romine (Rob) Carmel IN, and Joe Weiper, Carmel IN, and always welcomed others in need into their home. Grandmother to 14, and great grandmother to 13. Mom & Dad ran a successful business, Carpets from Nora for over 25 years in both Nora & Carmel. We wish to thank Dr. Broach and Dr. Wack, and the great staff in PCU @ IU North as well as our second family at Rittenhouse Senior Living for their compassion and support, as well as Fr. Arbuckle and seminarians Kyle & Michael of OLMC, Andrew of Senior 1 Care and St. Vincent Hospice. A lady full of love and life to the very end, we all vow to carry on your zest for life and love of God. Now we hear Dad saying "Mills, while you're up……...on your way……., "once again. With all our love, Your Family. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 14598 Oakridge Rd., Carmel, IN. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Carmel Cemetery. A celebration of Milly's life will be held from 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM at The Bridgewater Club, 3535 E. 161st. Street, Carmel, IN 46033. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of The Poor, St. Augustine's Home, 2345 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260-1905 or The Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st.
