Michelle A. Bills

March 18, 1970 — May 13, 2025

Avon, Indiana

Michelle A. Bills, 55, of Avon, Indiana, passed away on May 13, 2025, surrounded by love.

She was born on March 18, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Lloyd and Jackie (Jordan) Bills.

Born with special needs that many believed would limit her life, Michelle spent 55 joyful, meaningful years defying every expectation. Doctors once predicted she wouldn’t live past 20—but Michelle had other plans. With strength, grace, and an endless capacity for love, she filled every year with smiles, laughter, and a presence that made everyone around her feel special.

Michelle attended special education classes and proudly graduated from her program after years of hard work. She lived at home with her parents for many years, enjoying a life rich in family, travel, and joy. She loved shopping trips with her mom, singing along to country music, and indulging in peanut butter fudge. The family traveled across the U.S., creating treasured memories through camping and road trips.

Though her journey included many challenges, Michelle met each one with an open heart. She never met a stranger—always greeting people with a bright smile and a warm hug. Her spirit was joyful, her love unconditional, and her kindness unforgettable.

After the passing of her beloved mother, Michelle continued living with her father, Lloyd Bills. Their bond only deepened with time. Later in life, she moved into a group home, where she embraced newfound independence and—true to form—quickly made new friends. Following a stroke five years ago, she moved to a nursing home, where she continued to shine. She could often be found rolling through the halls, greeting everyone by name, and lighting up every room she entered.

Michelle is survived by her devoted father, Lloyd Bills; her loving brother, Andrew (Drew) Bills and his wife, Brandi; and her cherished nieces and nephew—Sidney, Brittain, and Dax—who adored their Aunt Michelle. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie Bills, whose loss she felt deeply.

A special and heartfelt acknowledgment goes to Shirley, who became like a second mother to Michelle after Jackie’s passing. Shirley played a vital role in her life—supporting her through each transition, from home to group home to nursing facility. She spoiled Michelle with love, joined in on camping trips, and spent countless hours by her side. Their bond was beautiful and unbreakable.

Michelle lived a life full of joy and meaning. She taught everyone around her how to live with compassion, to find happiness in the little things, and to love without hesitation.

No visitation or services are planned at this time. Michelle will be laid to rest privately at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, Indiana.
