Michael Thiel

Sgt Michael F. Thiel, 50, Indianapolis, passed away October 2, 2011. He was born September 10, 1961, in Indianapolis, the son of Leonard and Joan (Pitsenberger) Thiel. He was a highly decorated Sergeant in the United States Army and served 15 years in the military with two tours of duty in Iraq. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post #34. Michael is survived by his parents; wife, Kerstin (Goode) Thiel; two brothers, John Thiel and Joe (Chris) Thiel; three sisters, Carolyn Land, Dianne (Wally) Dixon, Amy (Tom) Hutsell; in-laws, Melvin Sr. and Paula Kerr; and a host of nieces and nephews, in-laws, and beloved friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011, at St. Pius X, 7200 Sarto Drive. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
