Michael Simmons

Michael L. Simmons Jr. 36, Indianapolis, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 12, 2013. Michael was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 21, 1976 to parents, Michael L. Simmons Sr., and Diane Martin. Michael graduated from Broad Ripple High school in 1994, and was an avid football player. He was known for his big heart, love for friends and family and profound sense of humor. Michael was a hard worker, and took pride in his profession as a Certified Hardscaper and owner of Yard Xpressions. The level of skill and professionalism displayed earned the company the Super Service Award on Angie's list in 2010. In Michael's free time, he enjoyed playing golf, bike riding, fishing with his Grandfather and James D. Russell, quality time with his cats; Bud and Lee, spending time with his nephews, and cheering on the Chicago Bears during football season. Michael was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Martha Chappell and Grandfather, Carl B. Simmons. He will be lovingly missed by his parents, Michael L. Simmons Sr.; Mother, Diane (Larry) Martin; Brother, Justin (Laura) Simmons; Stepbrother, Joe Martin; and Stepsister, Christy Martin; Grandmother, Lavina M. Simmons; as well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 20, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday July 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
