Michael J. Uminski

Michael J. Uminski, 73 of Carmel, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016. Michael was born July 30, 1943 in New York and is the son of the late Michael and Anna Danatsko. He was a graduate of Hunter College in New York City and worked for many years as a CPA for Arthur Anderson and Continental Steel, Kokomo, IN and CFO for private businesses. He was a member of the Indianapolis Rotary Club and American Association of Certified Accountants.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and volunteered for many activities including Bible Study. He loved woodworking, scuba diving, sailing, cooking for family, friends, and church events. He had assisted many family and friends with tax returns using humor and wit to soften the sting of the tax due.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4th at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel with a rosary at 7:30PM. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 5th in the Chapel at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery (9001 Haverstick Rd. Indianapolis).

Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary: children Douglas E. Uminski, Patrice D. Uminski, Megan A. Uminski, Matthew J. Uminski and Kristen A. Ayers (husband Christopher Ayers); grandchildren Colin, Maddox, and Ava Uminski; brother Paul Danatsko, three nephews, one great nephew, and two great nieces. He was proceeded in death by his sister Tatiana Kazanecki.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or Conner Prairie Education Programs.
