Michael F. Keating,
65, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was born on September 22, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA to John Thomas and Blanche Virginia (Kernel) Keating. As a young boy, Michael's family moved to the Indianapolis area and he graduated from Warren Central High School. Michael went on to Purdue University where he earned his degree in Engineering and became a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He most recently worked at Volex Inc. located in Indianapolis. When he wasn't working, Michael enjoyed attending drag races and showing his 1971 Dodge Demon in various car shows. He was also a very loving and supportive father, taking annual trips to Marco Island, FL with his family and serving on the Parent Council at Butler University for 6 years; 4 of those years serving as Co-President. Michael enjoyed golfing and played locally at the Country Club of Indianapolis. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Michael is survived by Susan Keating and their daughters, Kristie Keating and Jamie (Matt) Lord; sister, Patricia (John) Barlow and brother, Terry (Marcia) Keating. Michael is also survived by several nieces and nephews and companion, Rita Bradley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 1pm. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4 until 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway.
