Michael E. Suddarth

Michael Eugene Suddarth, 60, of Marion, IN passed away April 7, 2023.  Mike was born in Marion, IN on August 13, 1962 to parents, Myrl Eugene and Cathy (Bussert) Suddarth. He graduated from Eastbrook High School and earned his associates degree from Ivy Tech. During his career, Mike worked for Washington Park Services (Flanner Buchanan), for over 30 years.

Mike was a former member of Grace Community Church (Marion). He was devoted to his family and made many sacrifices for his three children, whom he adored. He loved waking up and cooking them breakfast on the weekends or surprising them with donuts. He dedicated his time when they were young, coaching baseball and basketball. An athlete himself, playing in church softball and basketball leagues in his youth, Mike always encouraged his kids to be involved in something – he didn’t care what, but they had to do something.

Mike came alive when he was outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, lighthouses and spending his time at Matter Park feeding the koi and tending to the gardens so people could enjoy what he loved. Mike thoroughly enjoyed the old school lifestyle; 70s/80s music, classic cars, and being outside away from technology. Mike had an eclectic taste and appreciation of music. He enjoyed U2, Def Leppard and Queen; but many others made the list as well. He had a way of remembering every song/band. He loved the unlucky things in life like the number 13 and the Detroit Lions.

Mike was the glue of his family and of his work. He had an encyclopedia mindset. He kept everything. He never minded to answer a question. He gave more than he would take.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy. He will be lovingly missed by his father, Myrl Suddarth; children: Carson Suddarth (Dani Lenges), Kesslar Suddarth, and Cash Suddarth; brother, Jeff Suddarth (Melissa Suddarth); niece, Kylie Lockett; nephew Brandon Suddarth; and many other loving extended family members and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 8pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis).  Additional visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2pm on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Grace Community Church (1810 E. Bradford Pike, Marion), where his funeral services will immediately follow Monday’s visitation, beginning at 2pm.
