Michael Dean Brooking

Michael Dean Brooking, 42, of Indianapolis, passed away January 7, 2018. He was born on August 1, 1975 in Indianapolis as the son of Dean Vincent and Marian Rae. He graduated from Beech Grove High School in 1993.

Mike enjoyed woodworking and he was a cabinet maker for many years at Miller Maid Cabinets. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time watching The Simpsons with his daughters.

Mike is survived by his mother, Marian R. (Stan) Cumbarelis; partner in life, Danielle Prestage; children, Paige Alyssa Brooking, Ryleigh Nicole Brooking and Samantha “Sami” Rae-Ann Brooking; brother, Mark Allen (Jennifer) Brooking; stepbrother, Josh Moline; sister-in-law, Carrie VanVelse; nephews, Devon Michael Brooking and Alec Braeden Brooking; great nieces, Julia, Mia and Kinsley Brooking; and grandparents, Bradford (Donna) Fitzpatrick. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Dean Vincent (Sandy) Brooking; and brother, Matthew Richard VanVelse.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2pm also at the funeral center.
