Michael D. Owen

Michael D. Owen, 66, of Santa Claus, IN passed away July 16, 2013 in Jasper, IN. He was born October 28, 1946 in Indianapolis the son of the late Glen and Lulu (Cox) Owen. Mike was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked in the food industry for over 40 years, starting from the bottom as a produce handler rising to the position of Vice President of Cubs Foods, Georgia before retiring in 2011. Mike loved working in his yard and he was a student of Civil War history. He enjoyed traveling with Linda to many historical locations. Mike was a God-fearing man who will be missed by all. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda R. Owen; children, James M. Owen, Teri D. Wilkerson (husband-John), and Michael McGinn; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Becky Hoopingarner (husband-E.D.); brothers, Jim Owen and Rick Owen (wife-Melissa); brothers-in-law, Bud Marks (wife-Louise) and Ray Marks (wife-Celia), as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the funeral home.
