It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Finley Curtis, a compassionate, loving, and dedicated man of faith, who left us on July 28, 2026. Born on November 23, 1971, in Indianapolis, IN, USA, Michael lived a life that was as vibrant and warm as his personality. He was the heart of his family, a steadfast pillar of support, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Michael was a true testament to the verse from Proverbs 17:17: "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity."
Michael was a proud Hoosier, a lifelong Indianapolis Colts football fan, and an experienced traveler whose journeys took him from his birthplace in Indianapolis to Chicago, Newark, Memphis, and eventually to North Fort Myers, Florida, where he spent the last three years of his life. He was not only a seasoned traveler but a dedicated Senior Manager in the logistics industry, a role he fulfilled for 28 years with unwavering commitment and exceptional expertise. His supportive nature extended beyond his personal life and into his professional realm, where he was known for his leadership and ability to inspire those around him.
To Michael, family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a loving husband to Marion Curtis, whom he married on June 17, 2006, an incredible father to Mone’ Moore and Anthony Moore, and a doting Papaw to his grandson, Samir Pumel. His contagious personality, full of love and laughter, will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marilyn Curtis, whom he cherished dearly.
As a follower of Jesus Christ, Michael embodied the virtues of love, kindness, and compassion. He lived his life as an example of 1 Corinthians 16:14: "Let all that you do be done in love." His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the power of faith and the importance of family.
Visitation for Michael will take place from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Monday, August 10th, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
We invite you to share your favorite memories of Michael and upload photos to his memorial page. It will be a comfort to all who loved him to see how much he touched the lives of others. Let us remember Michael not with sorrow, but with gratitude for his life and the love he shared.
