Michael Burns

Michael Burns, 68, of Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, passed away January 14th, 2021. He was born July 12th, 1952, in Indianapolis, to parents Laverne and Mary (Davis) Burns.
Michael graduated from Warren Central high school and continued his education at Ball State University.
He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force.
Michael was a sports enthusiast, following many teams including IU football and basketball, The Pacers, Green Bay Packers, The Cincinnati Reds, The Braves, and more. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and attending the games whenever possible. Michael was also a renowned chess player. For many years, he volunteered at the local VA hospital, entertaining patients with books, conversation and games of chess.
Michael is survived by his sister, Jo Ann Dougherty and nephew John Dougherty.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Michael will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
