Michael Edward Boyer, a dedicated and talented electrical engineer, passed away on April 23, 2026. Born on February 9, 1942, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to parents Edward and Helen Boyer, Michael displayed a deep passion for math and science at a young age. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University in 1963.

Michael’s career spanned over 4 decades at RCA, where he obtained multiple patents while designing high-voltage transformers and television parts.

Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married his wife Nancy in 1968, sharing fifty-five years of marriage filled with love and companionship. His devotion to family was a defining aspect of his character, and he took great joy in the company of his children and grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his sister Barbara Slane (Paul); son Matt Boyer (Jamie Smith); daughter Mendy Lukomski (Joe); grandchildren Sam Lukomski (Emmy Eley) and Maddie Lukomski; grandchildren Chase Boyer and Carson Boyer; and step-granddaughter Riahnna Smith.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Nancy Boyer and his parents, Edward and Helen Boyer.

A man of refined interests, Michael cherished reading and writing poetry, pursuits which enriched his life and those around him. His thoughtful nature and creative spirit will be deeply missed.

Per Michael’s wishes, his family will observe his passing and life privately, honoring the quiet dignity with which he lived. His legacy shall endure through the work he accomplished and the family he loved so dearly.
