M.E. "Bud" Campbell, 91, formerly of Brownsburg, IN. passed away in Houston, Texas. After graduating from high school in Lincoln, Nebraska, he attended night classes at The University of Nebraska. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1943 where he became Squadron leader. He attended 2 years of college at Southwestern College in Memphis, Tenn. He was very patriotic and was disappointed when his military service was cut short due to his father's illness. He attended night courses at Butler University while working for Allison's- a division of General Motors. He remained there for 17 years. He went on to have a successful sales career. After retiring he spent many years volunteering at the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. He loved flying and was a member of the Hendricks County Flying Club. He belonged to the Scottish Rite, Brookside Masonic Lodge and was also a Shriner. For many years, he was very active in the Republican Party. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. The service will be officiated by Mark Wingler who is the former Chaplain for the Indianapolis 500 Race. Survivors: daughter, Donna Lee Hutchins, honorary daughter, Linda Royer Fowler, niece Sharon Sherwood and her children Kate and Austin Sherwood. He will be rejoicing with his wife Louise "Weezer"
