Mervin L. Clark

Mervin  L. Clark, 76, of Westfield passed away November 3, 2023.  He was born March 30, 1947, in Gate City, Virginia the son of the late Fayette and Estelle (Smith) Clark.  He married Wanda Fleenor on May 18, 1968.

In 2001, Mervin retired after 35 years as a conductor for the railroad.  Mervin had a talent for rebuilding and fixing  old tractors. He especially enjoyed working on Allis Chalmers.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories and jokes to make people laugh. One of his favorite things was to tell everyone about his grand children and how proud he was of all of them.  He also enjoyed reading the Bible and telling others about God’s Word. His greatest desire was that his children and grandchildren would be saved and have a relationship with Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wanda Clark; two children, Kevin Lynn (Melissa) Clark and Leigh Ann (Dan) Dawson; five grandchildren, Abigail Lynn Clark, Jordan Lee (Maggie) Dawson, Ryleigh Lauren Dawson, Conner Michael Dawson, and Alexis Ann Marie Dawson; sister, Elizabeth Jean (Bill) Crawford; brother, James Connelly Clark;  three sisters-in-law, Ann Clark, Sara Clark, and Robin (Dan) Haworth; and one brother-in-law, Jerry (Cindy) Fleenor.  He was preceded in passing by two brothers, Arthur Scott Clark and Hugh Henry Clark; sister, Barbara Ann (Allen) Bright; and a brother-in-law, Bill Crawford.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road.  Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.
