Merle A Nowlin

  Merle Nowlin of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away April 6th, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to call her a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.          Merle was born in Nairobi, Kenya to John and Hilda Affonso later immigrating to the United Kingdom and then the United States where she met her husband. Merle was preceded in death by her mother and father. Merle will be deeply missed by her children, Kate (Estivan), Meghan, and Liam, husband Matthew, sister Melba, brother Mario (Kennedy), and a wide circle of family and friends. 

   Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched with her love and generosity through her work with children. Merle lived a life full of kindness, compassion, and caring. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her service will be April 17th at 12:00pm at St. Monica Catholic Church with visitation from 10am-12pm. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to the Animal Protection League or the Boone County Humane Society.
