Melvin Joseph Hedinger

Melvin Joseph Hedinger 87 of Mooresville, Indiana formerly Indianapolis, Indiana. Melvin was born on August 27, 1927 in Jasper, Indiana to Joseph George and Hilda (Bredhold) Hedinger. Melvin served our country in the United States Navy and in the Coast Guard. He worked in landscaping but his true passion was when he had Mel's Tours where he would drive people around to and from there doctor appointments for the Cancer center. He was a former member of St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church and the Independent Order of Foresters Local 1203 and the American Legion Headquarters No. 707. Melvin was preceded in death by his first wife; Wilma Hedinger and his second wife; Ruth Hedinger and his daughter; Brenda Hedinger and sons; Steven and Gary Hedinger. Calling will be held on Monday February 09, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway 2950 North High School Road Speedway, Indiana 46224 from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Melvin is survived by his wife Betty Jane (McDuffy) Hedinger who he married on December 31, 1989. He is also survived by his daughters; Catherine (Terry) Boling and Melinda (Lon) Richards and his step sons; Cary (Sharon) Dickinson and Randy (Donna) Dickinson; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren; his sisters; Betty (John) Tague and Virginia Walker and foster brother; John Dugan. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana. Memorial Contributions may be given to Riley Cancer Research for Children 705 Riley Hospital Drive Indianapolis, Indiana 46202.
