Melanie J. Fleenor

Melanie (Baugh) Fleenor, 48 of Westfield, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026. As a devoted mother, loving wife, cherished daughter, and the best sister a brother could ask for. Mel’s life was a reflection of warmth, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

She worked several years for Highland Residential Mortgage but above all, Mel loved her children more than anything in this world. They were her greatest joy, her proudest accomplishment, and the center of her heart. She embraced motherhood with fierce love, endless compassion and great pride. When Emma needed a mother most, Mel stepped into that role with open arms, becoming a steady source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love. Mel and Dan were then rewarded with 2 beautiful boys.

Mel had a vibrant spirit and a flair for beauty. She delighted in all things fancy (or bougie in her words)—especially if they were pink and sparkling with diamonds—bringing a sense of fun and brightness wherever she went. Her personality shined just as brightly, leaving a lasting impression on everyone blessed enough to know her.

She found great joy and fulfillment in caring for others, especially through cooking. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection, where everyone felt welcome, and no one ever left hungry. Feeding others was one of her many ways of showing love, and she did so generously.

Some of Mel’s most treasured moments were spent on the family property, watching Dan teach the boys all things about their surroundings. She gleamed watching the boys run, explore, and enjoy the outdoor life. Those simple, joy-filled times brought her peace and fulfillment, and they remain a lasting image of her love for family and togetherness. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she gave so selflessly.

Melanie is survived by her loving husband, Dan; children, Emma, Raymond and Olen Fleenor; mother, Janice (Ettinger) Baugh; brother, Nathan (Laura) Baugh along with many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Baugh, grandparents and many other loved ones.
