May Jackson

May Jackson, 81, of Indianapolis passed away Friday, November 28, 2014. She was born April 10, 1933 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late James Ashley and JoAnna Holden Harris. She was a wonderful person, and always put others before herself. This especially included her children Wm. L. Jackson, Jay D. Jackson, Nancy J. (fiancee Randy L. Mathis) Ackerly, Sharon M. (husband Warren) May, and George W. Jackson, Jr. Over the years in her neighborhood she was called Miss May or Mom by many of the neighborhood friends. Also surviving are her grandchildren Bryan (fiancee Andrea Sams) Day, Kristie (TT Jacquez) Ackerly, Thomas (wife Shelley) Ackerly, Troy Ackerly, Anthony Mathis, and Markim Mathis; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Kyle, and Delaney Day and Taylor, McKenzie, and Grace Ackerly and Jazmine and Jerimiah Jackson; and sister-in-law Sylvia Harris. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George W. Jackson, Sr.; siblings James (wife Emily) Harris, Jr., William Leroy Harris, and Betty Jo (husband Hans) Fjelfestad; and granddaughter Amanda Jenkins.
