Maxine Fay Cooper passed away on July 24, 2017. She was born to Goldie and Earl Hansbrough December 8, 1928. She was one of 13 children.
Maxine retired from Eli Lilly where she worked on the polio vaccine. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Speedway American Legion Post 500. Maxine enjoyed playing cards and watching Colts games on TV. She was also an accomplished painter when she was younger.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Cooper, as well as her parents, her brothers, Frank, Harry, John, Bob, Max, and Albert, and her sisters, Tini, Minnie, Ethel, Daisy, Audrey, and Shirley.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Scott, Stephanie Finchum, and Pam Christman (Bob); her grandchildren, Greg, Lisa (Dan), Paige, Jon (Jennie), Michelle, Pat (Mandy), April (Tom), and Rocky; and eight great-grandchildren. Maxine is also survived by nieces, Kathy Jo (Larry), Becky (Dale), and her loving grand-dog "Brutus"
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 11 AM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North. Visitation will be on Friday, July 28 from 5-8 PM, and also one hour prior to services on Saturday. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Speedway American Legion Post 500 Ladies Auxiliary.
