85 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 10, 2026. Max was born on December 23, 1940, in Wabash County, Illinois to the late James and Lola Gard. He had previously worked for Gann Conveor, International Harvester, Diamond Chain and retired from Rexnord (Link-Belt Bearing). He was a member of Fleming Garden Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his six brothers and sisters and his parents. He is survived by his wife Constance M. Gard, sons Harold (Nancy) Gard, Larry Gard, Larry (Lois) Richardson and Michael (Cammy) Richardson, grandchildren Richard Smith, Ryan Gard, April Hawkins, Nicole Neese, Kyla Richadson, Larry Richardson, Amanda Richardson, Brandi Richardson, Chad Pearson, great grandchildren Callia Hawkins, Emmilyn Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, Devin Pearson, Dyson Pearson, Blake Neese, Jack Bingham, Jameson Neese, Alex Richardson, Brayden Richardson, Carlie Richardson. Visitation will be on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 21, 2026, at 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
