Max E. Reese

Max E. Reese, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away August 14^th, 2023. He was born November 22, 1929, in Indianapolis, to parents Emmit and Marguerite (Stewart) Reese.

He graduated from Washington High School. Max proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On July 3, 1951, Max married the love of his life, Helen Edwards. They spent a short honeymoon at Clifty Falls State Park and shared 62 wonderful years hand in hand. Max was a devoted husband and loved traveling with Helen, especially to Vegas, Helen’s favorite. They welcomed three children into the world, and Max took great pride in being a family man and provider.

Max worked as a meat cutter for A&P for many years before retiring. Being the hard worker he was, he then took a job as a driver for JP Morgan/Chase Bank, where he retired a second time. Loving to stay busy, he spent many years assisting his son Tom, at the family muffler shop, and working part time at a golf course.

Max is survived by his children Donna (Chuck) Guire, Tom (Brenda) Reese, and Paul Reese; grandchildren Andy (Maria) Coovert, Valerie (JT) Harrell, Jason (Katie) Reese, Chad Reese, and Chase Reese; Great-grandchildren Brandon Denbrook, Kaidence Harrell, Conner Reese, Avery Reese, Quinn Reese, Caelyn Reese, Lorelei Reese and Sierra Reese.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents, and his siblings.

Visitation for Max will be Saturday August 19^th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 1-3pm. His funeral will begin at 3pm. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
