Maurine Brewer

Maurine Gillaspie Brewer, age 85,of Zionsville died September 5, 2010. The daughter of the late Norval and Leona (Conn) Gillaspie, Maurine was a graduate of Zionsville High School. She married her husband of 53 ½ years, Joseph R Brewer, on October 29, 1950. As a young woman Maurine worked at Indiana Bell, but her true calling was that of wife, mother, and homemaker. Maurine was a long-time member of Zionsville Christian Church. She was active in the Women’s Group of Ashville (OH), enjoyed playing bridge, and was a volunteer for Girl Scouts. Maurine is survived by her daughter, Cathy and son-in-law, Arnold Reusch; grandsons Jason, Jonathan, and David Reusch; and great grandchildren Robbie and Caroline. Her brother Manford “Gus” Gillaspie of Astoria, FL also survives. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 2004. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday September 9, 2010 at Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville Funeral Center. Maurine’s funeral will be held at Zionsville Christian Church Friday, September 10th at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes or the Zionsville Christian Church.
