Maurice L. Theising
85 of Carmel, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013. Maurice was born June 26, 1927 in Dubois, IN to the late Frank and Katie Theising. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, and took part in Operation Crossroads, the first nuclear bomb test at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific. Maurice retired in 1988 after almost 40 years with Allison Gas Turbine division of General Motors as an Electronics Technician. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, where he was president of the Men's Club, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #500.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, April 2 in the chapel at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis 46240. Friends are invited to call from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel.
Maurice was the widower of Bernice H. "Bee" Theising, to whom he was married 59 years. He is survived by his children, David J. (wife, Dale Chernoff) Theising, Donna T. (husband, Robert C.) Scherer, Paul D. (wife, Catherine J. O'Neill) Theising; grandsons, Adam, Aron, Jack and Connor Theising; brother, Cyril H. Theising. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gregory, Gabriel and Franklin Theising.
