Maureen Seal Eaton

Maureen Seal Eaton passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Cedar Creek of Franklin. She was born in Indianapolis on October 25, 1938 to Charles and Margaret Murphy, who preceded her in death. She was 84 years old.

Her siblings include a brother Steve (Karen) Murphy and sisters Catherine (John) Klee and Rita Ponton. Rita preceded her in death. Maureen was married to Thomas Seal from 1957 until his death in 1981. They had six children: John (Beckey) Seal, Kathy Seal, Karen Seal, Dan (Geri) Seal, Colleen (Marge Abels) Seal, and Diane (Mike) Noel. Kathy preceded her in death. Maureen was married to Kenneth Eaton from 1983 until his death in 2010. Her stepchildren from that marriage are Ken Eaton Jr, Renee Eaton, Heather Eaton, and Christine (Victor) Gamarra. Maureen is survived by 2 siblings, 8 children and stepchildren, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Maureen attended St Agnes Academy, and one year at IUPUI. Her many jobs included typist at Rough Notes, medical transcription at Johnson County Hospital, and receptionist at a doctor’s office. She was a business owner of Eaton & Associates, an executive recruiting firm in Southern California. She was also a Eucharistic Minister for Our Lady of the Greenwood, and treasurer for her HOA. Her interests included cooking, visiting with friends and family, celebrating her Irish and German heritage, and helping and caring for others. She had a great sense of adventure and was always willing to try something new, including rock climbing and ziplining in her 70s!

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 25 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Greenwood. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
