Maryrue Buchanan

Maryrue Buchanan, 88, passed away June 23, 2013 at IU Health-West, Avon. She was born June 30, 1924 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky the daughter of Cordella (Riley) and Carl Dodson. Maryrue grew up in Indianapolis and early in life owned Sue Kay Restaurant on Washington Street then was the dietitian at Frame Nursing Home for many years. Maryrue is survived by sons, Ronnie "Joe" Buchanan and James "Crow" Buchanan, wife-Teri; daughters, Regenia Carpenter and Diana Holtgrave, husband-Richard; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Daniel Dodson and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Michael Buchanan. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd.
