Mary Walton

Westfield, Indiana – Mary E. Walton, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023. She was 91 years old. Mary was born to parents Everett O. Mobley and Alice Andrews on November 23, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mary devoted her life to her family, marrying the love of her life, Theodore Walton, Jr., and raising her five children with him until his passing in 2001.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her son, Paul Mobley, twin brother Marian “Bucky” Mobley, and sister Martha Jane “Janie” Baker.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Wanda McPeake (Jim), Mary Anne Shidler (Wilbur), Janet Kates (Larry), and Charlotte Wilson (Greg); 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Family will gather for visitation on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 11 am – 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) with funeral services following at 1 pm. Grandson Rodney Kates will be officiating. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery following funeral services.
