Mary Christina Stanek, 96, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on November 6, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1930, in Medina, Ohio, to the late Paul and Christina Dangelo.
Mary lived a long life shaped by devotion, skill, and joy in the things she loved most. She was a talented seamstress who made much of her own clothing, bringing care and creativity to her work. She was also known as a wonderful cook, baker, and golfer.
She spent 30 years living in North Carolina, a place that formed an important part of her life’s journey.
Mary was a second-generation American from Italy, and that heritage remained part of the story of who she was.
One of the most meaningful chapters of her life began while working at GM, where she met the love of her life, Clarence. That meeting became the foundation of a cherished partnership and a lasting love.
Mary will be remembered with affection and gratitude by those whose lives were touched by her warmth, her talents, and her enduring spirit.
Mary is survived by her sister, Theresa Wirkner; and her nieces, Karen Cupa and Kristine Bradway.
