Mary Scott

Mary Martha (Dinsmore) Scott died on March 30, 2013 at the age of 97. She was born on June 7, 1915 in Perry Township, Boone County, Indiana to Walter Scott Dinsmore and Lottie Elizabeth (Waitt) Dinsmore. Martha was married to Roger Franklin Scott on March 25, 1938 in Boone County. They were married for 59 years at the time of Roger's death in 1997. Martha and Roger were devoted and loving parents of two sons: Larry Roger Scott, Brownsburg, Indiana and Ronald K. Scott, Jamestown, Indiana, along with a total of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was raised on her parents' farm north of Fayette, in Perry Township. She graduated from Whitestown High School in 1934. After marriage, she resided with Roger on a dairy farm east of Zionsville on U.S. Highway 421 just north of 106th Street, and they later moved to Zionsville. Martha worked from 1953 to 1966 for Frank Lumpkin owner of Kent Industries, located on Elm Court in Zionsville. Martha loved flowers and always had lots of perennials and annual flowers in bloom around her home. She was a member of the Zionsville Christian Church, and member of the Young at Heart Club for several years. She was an active member and officer of the Tuesday Evening Club of Zionsville. She had several neighbors and friends who were very dear to her throughout her life. Martha is survived by her two sons and their families: Larry Roger Scott (wife Carole) and daughter Monica Goldberg (husband David) and their daughter Daphne Goldberg and Ronald K. Scott (wife Brenda) and daughters Angela Merrick (husband Don) and their daughters Lucy and Lila; Cherilyn Wilson and her son Austin Sample and daughter Reagan; Jennifer Scott; Kimberly Scott (husband Dan Cavanaugh); and Caroline Scott. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville.
