Mary Rosen

Apr 18, 1939 — Aug 13, 2026

Indianapolis, Indiana

Mary T. Rosen, age 87, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026.

Mary was born on April 18, 1939, in South Bend, Indiana, the only child of Eugene Pilarski and Rose Lovman.

She met Bernard B. "Bert" Rosen, Jr. in June 1966, became engaged that July, and married him on September 18, 1966, in Indianapolis. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Bert Rosen of Indianapolis; her son, Michael (Jacqueline) Rosen of Indianapolis; and her three grandchildren, Jared Rosen of Denver, Colorado, Owen Rosen of Carmel, Indiana, and Marin Rosen of Madison, Wisconsin.

Mary grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from South Bend St. Joseph High School, among the school's earliest classes after it opened in 1953.

She spent much of her career working downtown and on the north side of Indianapolis as an Executive Assistant for Prudential Insurance, where she was dedicated and well respected by her colleagues, many of whom she remained close to well after retirement.

Mary loved cruising and traveling with Bert, as well as their various day trips together. A devoted homemaker, she also gave much of her time to St. Ann Catholic Church, where she was an active parishioner known for her work with funeral luncheons and the annual St. Ann festival. Mary was also a devoted football fan. She was, by her own account, undefeated at Euchre for over four decades — a claim her card partners were too polite to dispute.

Above all, Mary loved her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her steadfast care for those around her will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church, located at 6350 S. Mooresville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46221.
