Mary Roselyn, “Rosie”, GerlachMurphy, age 78, passed away on July 10, 2016. Rosie was born to Ruth and John Gerlach in Indianapolis, IN on September10, 1937. She attended St. John’s all-girlsCatholic High School and graduated from Marian University in 1959. She was a first grade teacher before stayinghome to raise her seven children, which she considered not only her job but hervocation in life. Rosie was aparishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church in Indianapolis for over 30 years,volunteering in ministries such as Lectoring, the Divine Mercy AdorationChapel, Soup Kitchen, priest meals, Mercy meals, and various committees overthe years. She devoted her life to herfamily and her Church, but her love for all people was always evident, as she hada quick and genuine smile for everyone she knew. Rosie was preceded in death by both herparents, her sister Joan (Gerlach) Adcock, and brother John “Jack” Gerlach, andis survived by her brother Tom Gerlach. She is also survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill Murphy; sons Bill(Sara) Murphy, Tim (Tami) Murphy, Kevin (Kathy) Murphy, Brian (Libby) Murphy;daughters Mary (Kevin) Price, Karen (Vince) Purichia, Katie (Kasey) Waggoner; eighteengrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her many funny storiesand infinite wisdom. The family wouldlike to offer our deepest gratitude for the loving care she received from thestaffs at Westpark Rehabilitation Center and Community East Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent toSt. Michael Catholic Church. Visitationwill be held at Flanner and Buchanan –Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler BlvdWest Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228 on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 3:00 p.m.to8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial willtake place on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3354 W30th St, Indianapolis, IN 46222 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Our Lady of PeaceCemetery.
