Mary Elizabeth May of Noblesville, IN, (formally Murrysville PA) passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 98. She was born in First Fork, PA, on January 26, 1926, to parents, Wilbur Edward and Pearl Mae (Caldwell) Turner.

Mary spent most of her married life in the Pittsburgh, PA area, and came to Indiana to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Indiana in 2014. She spent most of her married life caring for her family which included her special needs son, Ricky. She cared passionately for him for many years even after he lived in a group home in Erie, PA. This included frequent trips to bring him home for weekend visits and making all of his favorite foods such as chocolate cake, cookies and cherry pie. Mary was not only gifted in the kitchen, she was an excellent gardener and spent hours creating beautiful gardens anywhere she lived. She was also a seamstress, needleworker, crafter, painter and woodworker. Her handiwork included sewing many garments and home décor, cross stitching beautiful works of art and crocheting. She learned to do woodworking and tole painting later in life and would cut and paint her own wood products. While living in Murrysville, PA, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she participated in the Women’s Sewing Group crocheting prayer shawls and hats for children with cancer. Mary served others well, but mostly she was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mary married Kenneth on June 16, 1945 and they spent 60 loving years together. He preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by daughter, Debra May Jones and son-in-law, Gregg Jones, and her only grandson, Matthew. She also had many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth, and her son, Richard, brothers, George, Wayne, Wilber (Jr.), 1st Lt. William Turner, and her sister, Daisy Arlyne Turner Bauer.
