Mary Maehling

Mary Kathryn Jarvis Maehling 95, was born on November 8, 1916 in Clay County, IN to Ivor B. and Edith Jarvis. She died on September 4, 2012. Mary graduated from Brazil High School and attended Sanderson Business School. She was an employee of American States Insurance Co. and L. S. Ayres, before becoming a full time, stay-at-home mother. In 1940, she married Lyle R. Maehling, who preceded her in death in 1969. She was a 60 plus year member of Meridian Street United Methodist Church. She has been Girl Scout leader and a volunteer at Crossroads and Fletcher Place. Her favorite volunteer work was rocking babies at Riley Hospital. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph O. Jarvis, and a sister, Elizabeth Jarvis. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Eileen DuBois of Johnson city, TN, son Fritz Maehling of Indianapolis and several "adopted" great-grandchildren.
