Mary Elizabeth Kernodle

Mary Elizabeth Kernodle 102, of Brownsburg, Indiana passed away January 24, 2026. She was born May 23, 1923, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Grant and Ella Arnot. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Decatur Central High School, and soon after graduating from Indiana Business College. She loved teaching bible classes for children, gardening, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mary was also a Real Estate Agent and loved working with clients. Mary was a member of Mars Hill Church of Christ for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Chris (Don) Purdy, daughter-in-law, Pam Kernodle, grandchildren, Sean Purdy, Kim Bodell, Jenny Bronger, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jene Kernodle, son, Dale Kernodle, grandson, Cole Purdy, sister, Gertrude Kugleman, and brothers, Von Arnot, and Wayne Kinsey. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, 12:00pm-2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00pm. Pastor Monte Martin will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest privately at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana.
