Mary Jo Cooper

Mary Jo Cooper, 83, of New Palestine passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014. She was born January 8, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Carl P. and Elsie Schlenker. Mary Jo loved gardening and flowers, as well as spending time being social with her friends. She lived a simple live, but showed extravagant love to her family – especially her grandchildren. Christmas and other holidays will always be remembered by her baking and delicious trays of treats. She is survived by her sons Robin (Pam) Cooper and Dean Cooper; her grandson Clay Cooper; step-grandsons Carl and Adam Wemple; and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband Walter A. Cooper and her brother Bob Schlenker. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
