Mary-Jean Halvorson

Mary-Jean Halvorson, 93, of Carmel, Indiana passed away February 6, 2024.  She was born October 8, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of the late Clifford J. and Edith (Anderson) Hagman.  She married Richard A. Halvorson on July 17, 1954.  He preceded her in passing on December 17, 2015.

Mary-Jean was long-time active member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge.

She is survived by four children, David (DeeAnn) Halvorson, Dennis (Mary Ann) Halvorson, Diane (Mike) Teegardin, Dean (Diann) Halvorson; eight grandchildren, Kristin (Chaster Johnson) Stout, Kasey Stout, Nicole Halvorson, Kelsey (Patrick) Hart, Tyler (Michaela) Halvorson, Eric (Gabby) Teegardin, Brett (Meagan) Teegardin, and Curt Halvorson; seven great grandchildren, Kennedy, Landon, Dylan, Elric, Lincoln, Kristoffer, and Orion; sister, Joan Roth; and sister-in-law, Barbara Hagman.  She was preceded in passing by a brother, John Hagman; and brother-in-law, Wes Roth. 

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.  A brief memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial gathering from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Pleasant View Lutheran Church, 801 West 73^rd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
