Mary Jane Hoffman Myers

May 15, 1933 — July 26, 2014

Jane Myers passed away on July 26 at the Robin Run Health Care Center where she had been a resident for the past year. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park North. The funeral will be held in the same location at 10 a.m. on Friday. Jane was born in Indianapolis on May 18, 1933 to Harry and Catherine (Surber) Hoffman. A graduate of Washington High School class of 1951, she went on to graduate from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. On July 9, 1954 Jane married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Myers. Jane and Charles had a passion for travel throughout their marriage. With children in tow, the family enjoyed annual camping vacations, typically in western states. After their children left home, travel transformed from camping vacations to cruises and European travel. Jane also enjoyed cards, socializing with friends and crafting. Jane and family joined Westview Christian Church in 1970 where she has been an active member ever since. She was a member of White Cross Guild at Methodist Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Harriet Littrell, and an infant granddaughter, Cassandra Cardwell. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Myers, by children Harry Myers (and wife Beverly), Jesse Myers (and wife Marilyn), and Jill Cardwell (and husband Jon), by grandchildren Kurt Myers, Clint Myers, Matthew Myers, Jessica Brooks, Steven Myers, Tamara Cardwell, Nathan Cardwell, and Caitlynn Cardwell, by 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 8 step great grand children. Memorial gifts on Jane's behalf can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North. A Celebration of Life will be held there Friday at 10am with one hour of calling prior. Online condolences may be made at www.flannerbuchanan.com. Sincerely, Flanner and Buchanan
