Dundas, Mary I. (nee Vandercook), age 87, passed away peacefully at the Waters of Martinsville on April 27, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick in 1996. She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Feucht and Mary Jane (Dale) Morris; grandsons Benjamin, Jonathan, and Daniel Feucht; grandsons Frederick Poplin and Gregory Morris; and nine great-grandchildren. Mary graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL, and received her master's degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She taught kindergarten in the Indianapolis Public School System and after retirement traveled extensively with her husband throughout the U.S. and Europe. Mary was a member of the Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Parke Society, the Daughters of the American Colonists, and the Indianapolis chapter of the Scottish Society. In honor of her husband's military service, she was also a lifetime associate member of the 351st Bomb Group. Mary enjoyed reading, bird watching, history, antiques, and her Indianapolis Colts; she was especially fond of working in her garden. Her daughters would like to thank the staff of both American Village in Indianapolis and the Waters of Martinsville in Martinsville for the compassionate care they gave to Mary. Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center at 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue in Broad Ripple from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30th, with funeral services following immediately. Additional services will be held the next morning at the May Chapel in Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Indianapolis Zoo or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
