Mary Margaret Mayer Hedding died on October 4, 2012 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on June 7, 1927 in Buffalo, NY to Walter R. and Maybelle C. (Pettigrew) Mayer. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hedding Sr.; daughter, Margaret Claire Hedding; brother, George J. Mayer; and her parents. She leaves behind her son, Robert J. Hedding, Jr (Marta); her grandchildren, Sara E. and Andrew J.; and her great-grandson, Lucas. Mary was a current member of the Women's Department Club and Abundant Harvest United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Women's Rotary Club, the Riviera Club, Highland Country Club, and the Indianapolis Athletic Club. She enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures but none more than the summers spent on Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, IN. A memorial service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 7pm, with a visitation starting at 6pm. Mary will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association – Greater Indiana Chapter: 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN 46240. Contributions can also be made to the Eiteljorg Museum-Development Department, 500 W. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204; American Legion Auxiliary Foundation, 8945 N.
