Mary D. Gialdini, 81 of Carmel, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Mary was born August 20, 1934 in Chicago to the late Anthony and Angeline Raimondi. On May 23, 1953 she married James Gialdini, they were happily married for 58 years. Mary retired from Carmel High School where she was employed as a secretary for 25 years. She had a career as a secretary working at the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur, MO, Marsha Bagby Elementary School in Shawnee Mission, KS and Glenbard East High School in Elmhurst, IL.
Mary was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and its Women's Club and several bridge groups. She served as President of the Carmel Women's Club, President of the Carmel Clay Education Support Services Association and was Queen Mother of the Red Hat Mama's of the Red Hat Society.
Mary was the widow of James Gialdini. She is survived by her children, Michael (Tom Schmitt) Gialdini and Michele (Kevin) Matson; grandchildren, Nicholas Matson and Domenica Matson; great grandchildren, Finnigan and Madelyn Whitaker; sister, Roseann Perry.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 26 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 25 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel and an hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the St. Vincent Foundation c/o Oncology Department.
