Mary Evelyn Nicholson Cupp

Mary Evelyn (Nicholson) Cupp 90, of Carmel, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011. She was born August 1, 1920 in Scottsburg, IN to Perry and Mattie Belle (Phillips) Nicholson. She graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Indiana Business College. She married Jason J. Cupp in 1943. They were co-owners of B& L Packaging, Inc., from which she retired in 2002. Mary and Jason had four children; Linda (Don) Gustafson, Elaine (Richard) Jensen, Jason (Carol) Cupp, and Mary (Mark) Damer; 13 grandchildren Mike, Kelly, Matt, Amanda, Ryan, Tracy, Leslie Ann, Andrew, Amy, Chris, Leslie Marie, Sean, and JC; and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marie (Nicholson) Durr; and Harold “Shorty” Nicholson. She was preceded in death by her husband Jason; son-in-law Richard Jensen; sister Helen Harbaugh; and brothers Charles, Harlan, and Perry Nicholson. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 25 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel, where friends may call from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, June 24 and from 11:00 am Saturday until the time of the service.
