Mary Eunice Bovard, 101, passed away December 23, 2017 in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born November 7, 1916 in Freeport, Pennsylvania to Harry and Mollie (Hawk) James.
Mary was a resident of Pennsylvania for most of her life, but resided in Indiana the last 13 years to be closer to family. While in Pennsylvania, she was a member of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon, elder, and sang with the choir. Family remembers Mary as a woman of God who was sweet to everyone she met. She loved singing, sewing, playing bridge and euchre, and being a homemaker. She was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who were blessed enough to have met her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mollie; husband of 54 years, Frank K. Bovard; 5 siblings and a great-granddaughter, Annelyse Willsey, who passed away May 25, 2017. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia (Paul) Gillette of Greenwood, Indiana and James (Alberta) Bovard of Gastonia, North Carolina; grandchildren, Sarah (John) Healy, Megan (Drew) Sager, Matthew Gillette, Jennifer (Blake) Willsey; as well as great-grandchildren, James, Anna, Cale, Gemma, Rowan Paul, Tessa, and Gideon.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s 101 years on earth will be held in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania in the Spring.
