Mary Ellen Harrington October 28, 1935 – July 12, 2015 Mary Ellen Harrington, 79, died on July 12 in Zionsville, Indiana. She was born October 28, 1935 in Madison, Wisconsin to Dr. Paul and Mary Brehm. She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1953 and Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin in 1957. She was a fourth grade teacher in West Allis, Wisconsin and Madison, Wisconsin and later as Director of Volunteer Services at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Before relocating to Indiana, she lived many very happy years on Lake of the Ozarks in Linn Creek, Missouri. She was preceded death by her brother Paul Brehm and her sister Katherine Polanco. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Harrington of Zionsville, Indiana, her sister Agnes Hinz of Seattle, Washington, her brother Henry Brehm of Madison, Wisconsin, her sons Michael Harrington (Judy) of Zionsville, Indiana, Dan Harrington (Beth) of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. She will be missed by her five grandchildren, Ellen, David, Jack, Grace and Callan. She will be remembered as a remarkable and especially generous wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 16th 11:00am at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church 1870 W. Oak Street, Zionsville with visitation Wednesday, July 15th from 4:00-7:00pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Zionsville. Her family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Light Hospice Care and The Hearth at Tudor Gardens.
