Mary Elizabeth Lewis

Mary Elizabeth (Bernhardt) Lewis, age 88, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away at Westside Village Nursing Center on July 14, 2021. She was born on January 21, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Albert Bernhardt and Elizabeth (Grunewald) Bernhardt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Edsel E. Lewis; brother, Edward Bernhardt; and sister, Martha Wilkerson.

Mary was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Mary loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.
Mary was known for her good sense of humor. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Albert Leander Lewis, Gregory Alan Lewis (Linda), and John Edsel Lewis (Janie); sister, Evelyn Groff and Lavonne Millette; her grandchildren Amy Tryggestad (Tanner), Danny Lewis, Norma Roberts, and Leeann Spratt (Greg); 5 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at the Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Dr, on Sunday, July 18th for Visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. with a one-hour visitation prior to service.
