Mary E. Halter

Mary E. Halter, 97, Carmel, passed away May 24, 2018. She was born in Elkhart, January 1921 to Clyde D. and Jeanette (Holmes) Haines.  She attended Flora Stone Mather College (Cleveland). In 1948, she married Louis Halter (deceased, 2006).  They lived in South Bend, IN prior to moving to Michigan City, IN in 1963.   

While living in Michigan City, she was actively involved in the Republican party and was an avid golfer.

Retirement brought her to Carmel, IN where she continued to enjoy both her hobbies.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou (Robert) Renskers, Carmel, and Catherine Vollick, Chicago; two grandsons; James (Crystal) Renskers, Westfield, IN and Matthew Renskers, New York City; and sister Eileen Clawson, Lakeland FL.
