Mary C. Smith

Mary Coryell Smith 88, passed away on June 18, 2012. She was the widow of Albert L. Smith, whom she married on March 23, 1946. She was a member of Seerley Creek Christian Church, formerly Mars Hill Christian Church for over 70 years. She retired from Roadway Trucking in 1986 after 19 years and previous to that she worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Stephen Decatur Elementary School for seven years. Since retiring she has enjoyed life with her family, traveling with her sisters and working Ladies' Aid at the church. She is survived by her son, Daniel (Mary Ann) Smith; daughter, Gloria (Russell) Warthen; five grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild and sisters, Phyllis (Lee) Whobrey, Joyce Shuman, Joanne (John) Pittman. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Coryell and brothers, Robert, Carl Ashley and John Martin Coryell. Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Seerley Creek Christian Church, 3550 S. Lynhurst Drive, Indianapolis, IN, with visitation there on Friday June 22nd from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Seerley Creek Christian Church -Al Smith Memorial Fund.
