Mary Buckner

Mary Blackmore Buckner, 94, Indianapolis, passed away March 30, 2015. She was born February 3, 1921 in Indianapolis to Harry J. Blackmore and Anauta. She was married to Malcom W. Buckner on January 6, 1945. Mary is a graduate of Indiana University. She served in the Army Air Force during WWII. She was a hospital dietitian and was in charge of a medical mess hall at Peterson Field Air Field, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Survivors include daughter Marilyn Parrish and sons Andrew (Mary Kay), John (Linda), and Steve (Leslie). She has thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Mary belonged to Women's Legion Post #438. She was a former member of the Oaklandon Christian Church and more recently attended services in Franklin, Indiana at the Masonic Home, where she resided. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9-10am at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, with funeral services beginning at 10am.
